Manuka Health New Zealand secures new owner for next phase of growth

Manuka Health New Zealand has announced today the company has secured new ownership, subject to Overseas Investment Office (OIO) approval, backing the significant growth strategy of the company.

Manuka Health has experienced exceptional growth over recent years as it has delivered on its strategy of building strong brand connections with consumers and retailers around the world. During this time Manuka Health has also invested in the significant expansion of its internal beekeeping operations which has seen its apiculture operations expand five-fold since 2016.

The new investment capital will support the Manuka Health business as it builds on its extensive New Zealand supply platform, taking high quality natural health products to many markets around the world, not least of which include; Germany, Japan, Australia, China and North America.

This new capital partner, a highly reputable South-East Asian trading company, replaces Pacific Equity Partners which have been the majority owner of Manuka Health since they acquired the business in late 2015, supporting the business to grow to more than $100m revenue.

Chief Executive John Kippenberger is excited about the future prospects for the company under the new ownership. The new owner has requested anonymity until the OIO process is complete.
