Honey Oat Macadamia Nuts Scone
Anyone for afternoon tea?
A tradition from the 1840's that still lives on now, there is nothing like a fresh scone straight out of the oven. These Honey oat macadamia nuts scones are to die for.

Ingredients
2 cups all-purpose flour
¼ cup packed brown sugar
¼ cup Mānuka honey MGO 30+
1- ½ teaspoons baking powder
½ teaspoon baking soda
½ teaspoon salt
½ cup cold butter, cubed
1 large egg, room temperature
1/2 cup buttermilk
1 cup oats (rolled oats or Nestum multigrain oats)
1 cup macadamia nuts, coarsely chopped
1 teaspoon of vanilla essence
Directions
- Preheat oven to 200°C. Whisk together first five ingredients; cut in butter until mixture resembles coarse crumbs. In another bowl, whisk together egg, buttermilk and vanilla; stir into crumb mixture just until moistened. Stir in oats and macademia nuts.
- Turn onto a lightly floured surface; knead gently eight times. Pat dough into a 6-in. circle. Cut into eight wedges; place on a greased baking sheet. Bake until golden brown, 15-20 minutes. Serve warm.
